Adam Newman and Marisa Sierras didn’t share much screen time together on The Young and the Restless, but off-screen, their portrayers, Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas, shared a kiss that is making headlines.
Justin Hartley In New Romance
TMZ reports that Hartley and Pernas were captured on camera when she was dropping him off at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. In the TMZ report, you can see a masked Hartley in a wheelchair. No word on what injury may have brought Hartley to the facility. On This Is Us, the nighttime serialized drama on which Hartley stars, his character, Kevin Pearson, has a knee injury.
Pernas debuted on YR back in 2015 as part of the Jack Abbott storyline in which he was given a drug lord doppelganger Marco Annicelli. Pernas stayed in Genoa City long enough to become romantically involved with Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) and deal with a former love, Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva).
Later, Marisa and Noah called off their engagement and she left town. Pernas currently appears on the NBC series Blood & Treasure as Lexi Vaziri.
Justin Hartley began his career in daytime as Fox Crane on Passions. After exiting that show, he went on to work regularly in primetime, first on Smallville as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow and then on the short-lived series Emily Owens, M.D. He also played parts on Mistresses and Revenge. In 2014, he came back to daytime to play the coveted role of Adam Newman, taking him from antagonist to romantic lead.
The actor left the show in 2016 for the series This Is Us. Hartley wed Chrishell Stause (a Daytime Emmy nominee for her role as Jordan on Days of our Lives) in 2017. Late last year, reports surfaced that the couple had split and were getting a divorce.
This Is Us is set to return for its 5th season on NBC later this year. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
