Ever since “The Young and the Restless”‘ Justin Hartley landed a role on NBC’s upcoming drama, “This Is Us,” fans have been wondering if he’ll leave the CBS sudser.
CBS has yet to comment officially on Hartley’s Y&R future. As more information about his primetime gig comes to light, we learn what it will require of the actor.
The state of California awarded “This Is Us” tax credits for filming there. While the show shot its pilot in New York, its showrunners plan to set up base in the Golden State, according to the July 11 issue of Soaps In Depth.
Hartley may be more likely to continue on Y&R, as he won’t be required to work on both coasts.
The in-demand actor’s Y&R stories are in high gear these days. Victor (Eric Braeden) continues to exact revenge on him, while his relationship to Sully/Christian threatens to come to light any day!
“This Is Us” features an ensemble cast, and its stories will focus more on different characters at different times. Hartley’s taping schedule will likely grant him extended breaks, as In Depth pointed out. Perhaps Hartley will do double duty in both shows after all.
