Special Moments

On Thursday, March 26, Y&R celebrated its 53rd anniversary. Fans and cast members took to social media to honor the iconic soap and share some of their fondest memories.

Stafford (Phyllis) is one of the many cast members who showed her love for the daytime serial. On Instagram, the actress posted a series of photos featuring some of her favorite moments. The slideshow included pictures of Stafford’s co-stars Lauralee Bell (Christine), Sharon Case (Sharon), Joshua Morrow (Nick), Michael Damian (Danny), Peter Bergman (Jack), Susan Walters (Diane), Christian LeBlanc (Michael), Tracey Bregman (Lauren), and the late Jeanne Cooper (Katherine).

”Happy 53rd birthday #YR ❤️. It has been a pleasure to be a part of this legacy. I have the great good fortune of sharing it with spectacular people. Some of the greatest people I know ❤️,” Stafford captioned the post.

The actress was feeling the love from her co-stars, who feel the same way. “Yea baby 🙌,” Case wrote. Bregman also commented on Stafford’s post with triple heart emojis.

Fans chimed in with their love for the show. “I have been watching since day one as a kid. Michelle you are one of the best,” one viewer responded.

Phyllis’ Legacy

Stafford has been part of the Y&R family on and off since 1994. When she debuted as Phyllis, fans were introduced to Genoa City’s newest bad girl.

Phyllis quickly became a villain by breaking up Christine and Danny’s marriage. In later years, she’d be involved in other love triangles. First with Jack and Diane, then Nick and Sharon.

Throughout the decades, Phyllis would often become the heroine as she faced many setbacks. But the redhead would usually revert back to her scheming ways, which made for exciting TV. Whether she was running someone down with her car, covering up murders, or faking her own death, there was never a dull moment with Phyllis.

These days, Phyllis has asserted herself as Queen Bee now that she’s in charge of Newman. While Phyllis is relishing her new role, many of her enemies are plotting to take her down. Although things aren’t looking good for Phyllis’ future, as fans know, she always rises from the ashes.
