Michelle Stafford Gets Real About Single Motherhood In A Pandemic

Life isn’t easy for anyone during the time of social distancing as the United States and the world try to flatten the coronavirus curve, but for a single mom like Michelle Stafford, it presents even more issues for things as simple as a run to the grocery store. The actress, like always, keeps it real and explains what she and other single parents are facing.

Michelle Stafford Opens Up

The actress who originated the role of Nina Reeves on General Hospital and is currently back in the role of Phyllis Summers, which she created on The Young and the Restless, recently shared her struggle on social media. In an Instagram post, she showed a picture of her son and daughter suited up in protective gear for a trip to out.

“This was us getting ready to go to the grocery store yesterday. We didn’t have gloves so I had them wear socks on their hands. It worked. Gotta do what you gotta do. Make it work, ya know?” she wrote in the caption. But then she went on further to explain how she was feeling about it all.

“As a single parent, it’s such a challenge because I don’t really want to bring my kids to the market but I can’t leave them at home or leave them in the car… ya know? I try to make this time as fun as I can. I’m sure you all are doing the same,” Stafford added. As for coping with the stress, she goes on to explain how she’s compartmentalizing it.

“It’s only when my head hits the pillow at night and I’m alone do I think… ‘Damn, what the hell.’ I try to keep all those thoughts to that time and not to give them (those thoughts) to my babies during the day. I hope you all are doing well! I love you all so much. You have been so beautiful and uplifting. You all give me strength. You really do!
