Melissa Ordway Announces Her Return To The Young And The Restless!

Abby fans have missed seeing her on The Young and the Restless ever since she took that business trip to Paris! The write-out was to facilitate her real-life alter ego’s maternity leave!

Melissa Ordway (Abby) gave birth to a daughter, Sophie Jolie, on December 9.

The actress and her husband, Justin Gaston (ex-Ben, Days of Our Lives), have been posting social media photographs since their daughter’s birth and their fans have been able to see how much fun Ordway’s been having with both their little girls.

And, now, she’s uploaded a video announcing that she’s ready to return to taping at the CBS studios.

“I’m on my way home,” Ordway said in her car as she was leaving the CBS studios where Y&R tapes. “I went to work for a couple of hours for a meeting, and next week I am officially off maternity leave, so I will be back filming next week. I’m super excited! It was so good to see everyone!”

With Orday taping the week of February 5, viewers might see Abby on screen before the end of the month.

While the actress was happy to see everyone again when she went in for her meeting, she did lament, “This is the longest I’ve ever been away from the babies [Sophie and her big sister, Olivia].

“I’ve been gone, gosh, a few hours and I’m kind of freaking out. I can’t wait to get home, and traffic is terrible! But, like I said, it was so good to see everyone and I can’t wait — Abby is baaaack!”
