The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan celebrates a major milestone when it comes to her character, Chelsea Lawson.
Melissa Claire Egan Marks Major Chelsea Milestone
Egan took to Instagram to let fans know that November 11 is a big day for her and her character. “I can’t believe it. Chelsea Lawson debuted 10 years ago today on The Young & the Restless. I’m so grateful to work with these actors and this crew. These writers, directors, producers,” she wrote.
It seems that time truly flies when you’re having fun. While every day hasn’t been roses for Chelsea in Genoa City, she’s had her fair share of intrigue, drama, and craziness. For that, and so much more, the actress feels grateful.
In the celebratory post, Egan shared several different photos of herself as Chelsea. One special photo showed that fateful day when her character slapped Chloe Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) on her wedding day after she learned Chloe “killed” Adam Newman (now Mark Grossman).
Why She Loves Portraying Chelsea
In the caption, Egan explained why she loves working on the soap opera so much. “I’m so grateful when explaining my storyline I can say things like, ‘I was released from the mental institution after I framed my ex-husband for attempted murder’ and ‘oh, my son is Adam’s, but I told Dylan [Steve Burton] it was his for a year cuz I was mad at Adam’ and ‘she killed my husband but I forgave her, we’re best friends.’
“I love my job and I LOVE this medium so much. Everyone works so hard and these people are my family. I’m just very grateful, today and every day,” she continued.
Perhaps one of our favorite photos she shared is one of herself smiling with her real-life bestie, Joshua Morrow, who portrays Nick Newman (will Nick and Chelsea reunite when she returns to Genoa City?). You can see the whole thing below.
At this point, we can’t imagine Genoa City without Chelsea Lawson in it. We can’t wait to see what she gets up to with Melissa Claire Egan back and filming scenes after her maternity leave. Soap Hub sends congratulations to the actress on her 10 year anniversary with Y&R.
