Former The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan has a lot to celebrate!
Egan was born on September 28, 1981 in Pound Ridge, New York, which means she is turning 37 years old! At age 11, she appeared in a skit on Late Night with Conan O’Brien about a spelling bee. In the skit, she competed with a then eight-year-old Scarlett Johansson. She appeared on the cover of the board game “Girl Talk” when she was 13.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Dramatic Art and decided to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.
In 2001, one of her first TV roles was on the popular WB show, Dawson’s Creek, where she appeared in two episodes — one as Ilyse Todd and then later as a waitress. She was also in an episode of One Tree Hill in 2003.
It was in 2006 when she booked her first soap opera role on All My Children as Annie and stayed until 2011. That same year, she was cast as Chelsea on The Young and the Restless — a role she stayed in until she left earlier this year.
Other shows that she’s appeared in include Men At Work, Criminal Minds, Bones, and We Are Men.
On the personal front, Egan married her boyfriend of three years, Matt Katrosar, following a 17-month-long engagement on July 26, 2014.
