Mac Attack: Should J.T.’s Wife Come Back For Good On The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Once upon a time on The Young and the Restless (YR), it was Billy, Mac, Raul, Brittany, Rianna, and JT at the forefront of Genoa City’s hottest teen scene. They got their own house and everything!

Some people died or moved away, and now they are barely remembered today. As for the rest….

Billy loved Mac, but they broke up when they believed they were cousins (this would be during the whole Jill is Kay’s daughter debacle). Victoria (Amelia Heinle) had a child, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) with J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) before moving onto Billy (Jason Thompson). J.T., for his part, moved onto Mac.

Fast forward to 2018, and Billy is with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), Mac has filed for divorce from J.T., and he’s back in Genoa City with Victoria.

For now, Mac is being heard and not seen or, rather, talked about, as J.T. told Victoria she is suing J.T. for sole custody of their kids, and Reed confessed to his mom that he never felt like a part of his dad’s family.

In honor of Y&R’s 45 anniversary later this month, Kelly Kruger will bring Mackenzie Browning Hellstrom back to the canvas. Would this family drama be more compelling if Mac actually sticks around in Genoa City for an extended stay? Almost 7000 viewers play travel agent.

Nah, muse 51% of you. (Probably the same group who doesn’t find J.T.’s return all that compelling). If Mac returned to town, odds are we’d be in for twice the tantrums from J.T. He’d be stomping his feet and turning red in the face over both of his former wives. One former wife at a time long-term is plenty in your book.

Welcome Back
On the other hand, an almost equal 49% of the audience would love to see Mackenzie back in town for good. She doesn’t even have to be tied to J.T. for the long haul considering they’re currently in the middle of a divorce and custody battle.

Mac and Billy never got the full-chance to be together that they deserved (without family meddling and the rest), maybe this could finally be their shot?
