It’s Summertime on The Young and the Restless, even if the actual season is nearly over!
Ever since Summer (Hunter King) blew back into Genoa City, it’s been all Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) little girl, all the time. First, she’s arrested for car theft! Then she’s sniping with Mariah (Camryn Grimes)!
If she’s not doing a reenactment of Dangerous Liaisons with Kyle (Michael Mealor), she’s throwing herself at Billy (Jason Thompson).
Nick finally learned the truth about his beloved Supergirl when she took a check in exchange for keeping mum about Nick and Phyllis’s fling. But, how do fans feel about this new – and unimproved – Summer? Here’s what almost 4,000 said.
Heavily Hateful
We hate her, 88% of the audience is quite comfortable pronouncing. Before, Summer used to be boring. Now, she’s just a bitch. Has she had a nice word for anyone since she returned? Well, Victor (Eric Braeden), maybe.
But, that was so she could con him into getting her a car to replace the one she stole from her married boyfriend.
And Summer used to be pretty close with her mom. Even if she were terribly attracted to Billy (why?), the old Summer would have kept it in check in order to spare Phyllis’s feelings.
Now, she seems to want him solely to upset her mom. And we have yet to be given a reasonable motivation for any of it.
Stirring It Up
For 9% of you, however, this version of Summer is making things happen in Genoa City, and that’s enough reason to love her.
Kyle needed to be taken down a peg or two, and it would behoove Phyllis to remember that her great love affair with Billy began while she was still married to Jack (Peter Bergman).
Summer is a breath of fresh air, or at least a nice, ice-cold bucket of water dumped over Genoa City’s heads.
