On The Young and the Restless, Cane might be starting to give up hope that he and Lily will reunite. (Everybody sing, “Someday, we’ll be togetheeeeer, yes, we will, yes, we will.”)
He had high hopes for when she returned for Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) memorial service. And he had them again when Devon (Bryton James) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) dedicated a musical space at Society to Neil.
But Lily (Christel Khalil) threw a monkey wrench into Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) plans when she said she’d be staying put. Devon will record it for her. But did Lily make a mistake? Should she come home… for good? Over 8,000 fans prepare the welcome wagon!
There’s No Place Like Home
For 59% of you, the answer is a no-brainer. If Lily is done with Cane, that’s fine. She doesn’t need to come back for him. She doesn’t need to reunite with him. But she’s got other ties to Genoa City. She’s got her kids. Remember Mattie (Lexie Stevenson)? Remember Charlie (Noah Alexander Garry)?
She’s got the perpetually grumpy Devon. And she’s got Traci (Beth Maitland) — who has been having black and white sexual fantasies about Lily’s ex-husband. That’s what we in the daytime world call a story! It won’t be nearly as good without Lily!
Too Many Chefs
With Neil and Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) gone, there isn’t much to keep Lily in Genoa City, 41% of the audience disagrees. Sure, there are the kids. But aren’t they 18 now? (Hard to tell based on the year they were born.)
They’re both talking about going away to college. Devon would just mumble about how she killed Hilary (Mishael Morgan), the greatest woman who ever lived. And Traci… well, she probably would prefer Lily stay out of Cane’s sight, even if she’s still on his mind. Lily just isn’t wanted… or needed.
