On The Young and the Restless, after Mia hit Lola over the head and shoved her into the freezing Abbott pool — she thought she was pushing Abby, so that made it OK in Mia’s mind — the youngest Rosales sibling was in a coma, her liver failing.
Lola (Sasha Calle) desperately needed a transplant, so Kyle (Michael Mealor) agreed to marry Summer (Hunter King) if she’d be the donor. Meanwhile, Lola’s brothers, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Arturo (Jason Canela) were praying for their baby sister not to die.
Here is what they weren’t doing. TELLING THEIR MOTHER HER DAUGHTER MIGHT DIE. How they pulled it off, we have no idea. Lola made it sound like she and Celeste (Eva LaRue) were the talk-everyday types.
Celeste didn’t know anything had happened until she came to town to meet Kyle. And, when she found out, she was very, very mad. As in I’m going back to Florida and might forget to come to your wedding mad. Was she right? Or were her sons right to keep her in the dark? Here’s what over 20,000 viewers said about it:
Right On
It was super-close, but 51% of the audience has decided that Rey and Arturo were right. Why worry Mama when the outcome was uncertain?
Isn’t it better to let her know that Lola was sick, but everything is fine now, rather than forcing her to agonize, minute by minute like they were doing? Besides, who wants to live sunny Florida for winter in Wisconsin? She was better off staying home.
Wrong Way
Then again, 49% of you are on the side of the mother who might have wanted to know that her daughter might die. Maybe there was something she wanted to tell her. Maybe she wanted to be with her.
Maybe she wanted to pray. Either way, anger was mild compared to what those guys deserved. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
