The Young and the Restless is once more in need of a good lawyer, so who better to call back to the show than Lauren Woodland, a real-life attorney who plays one on TV. Woodland last appeared on the show earlier this year as Nick was battling his father Victor for custody of little Christian.
Y&R announced the news via its official Twitter account, saying that Brittany’s back to help bring a little “law and order” to Genoa City!
Woodland made her debut on Y&R in March of 2007 as Brittany, a rich, spoiled, young woman who initially tried to win the affections of Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson; then David Tom).
She was chosen to partake in a summer promotion campaign for Jabot as one of the “Glo by Jabot Kids” line.
Later, Brittany took on more adult storylines, becoming an exotic dancer at Bobby Marsino’s (John Enos) club. Eventually, the two fell in love and she gave birth to his son, Joshua. Tragically and, perhaps, mysteriously, Bobby was killed off-screen. (Hmmm.)
Soon after, Brittany took little Joshua and left town. Jill (Jess Walton), once Brittany’s ally in her quest to win Billy, almost went with her but decided not to and remained in Genoa City, much to the delight of Jill fans everywhere!
When Brittany returned to Genoa City earlier this year, we learned that she and Raul (David Lago) had reconnected and married. Viewers also learned then that Brittany had become a lawyer, most likely a nod to Woodland’s real-life career.
She’s already helped Nick (Joshua Morrow) when he was in a legal jam. Who’s Brittany coming to town to work with this time? Stay tuned to find out!
