It’s hard to believe, but Lauralee Bell is one of the longest-running cast members on The Young and the Restless! She recently celebrated an amazing milestone with the show, which was created by her parents, Lee Phillip Bell, and the late William J. Bell.
But don’t count on a big set celebration to commemorate Bell’s 35 years at Y&R. Yes, it’s hard to believe, but she began acting on the top-rated soap in 1983!
The actress recently took to Instagram to say that she wasn’t going to make a big deal out of her anniversary but she couldn’t help but share a photo so that the occasion wouldn’t go totally unnoticed!
Bell perhaps pointedly noted in her post that her wish is for Cricket to “smile the way she used to and to chill out whenever possible.”
Cricket (aka Christine) certainly started out as a positive character. She was the “good girl” compared to Tricia Cast’s manipulative Nina. The two teens started out as rivals but became pals and are friends in real life, too.
During Bell’s 35 years as Christine, the character has worked as a model and a lawyer, which includes her current gig as Genoa City’s district attorney.
She’s had quite a few men in her life. Cricket started out romancing Phillip (Thom Bierdz) and moved onto a marriage with Danny (Michael Damian).
She had unsuccessful relationships with Dr. Scott Grainger (Peter Barton), who turned out to be her half-brother (oops!) and Chase Benson (Stephen Gregory).
She was also engaged to one-time sexual harasser Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), but that didn’t last once she found out he’d lied to her…continue reading on the next page —>
She was also engaged to one-time sexual harasser Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), but that didn’t last once she found out he’d lied to her.
The main man in Chris’ life since the mid-90s has been Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). The couple’s been married twice.
Over the years, that character has been raped, stalked, harassed, threatened, kidnapped, and suffered other travails but each time she emerges victorious!
Soap Hub joins Bell’s fans in wishing her another 35 years playing Genoa City’s favorite good girl!
