It may be hard to believe but it’s been a year since Jordi Vilasuso debuted on The Young and the Restless. Viewers didn’t know at first what Rey’s deal was (he’s a lawman!) and now, the actor has an important message to share with his fans!
Vilasuso, sporting a very clean-shaven look, took to social media to post a video expressing his gratitude for “all the love and support I’ve gotten this week for my one year anniversary of being on this incredible show. Young and the Restless has been an incredible journey. And the love and support I’ve gotten from you guys has just been so incredible.”
“So, thank you and here’s to you and here’s to Rey Rosales and the rest of the cast and crew here at The Young and the Restless and telling more great stories in Genoa City that you guys can enjoy and we can keep entertaining viewers for many more years to come. Take care.”
Vilasuso first came to the attention of CBS Daytime fans when he was cast as Tony Santos on the beloved soap Guiding Light.
He won the Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Leading Actor category in 2003 for his work on GL. He did a guest spot in 2008 on CSI: Miami, the long-running CBS procedural drama on which his TV mother, Eva LaRue (Celeste), starred.
The actor also appeared on All My Children as Griffin and Days of Our Lives as Dario. His other credits include Fashion House, South Beach, The Glades, and Graceland. During his tenure as Rey, he’s established himself as a caring family man and devoted boyfriend to Sharon (Sharon Case).
While he and Sharon are currently on the outs, it’s likely only a matter of time before YR sets him up with another of the show’s leading ladies — or returns him to Sharon! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
