Jessica Collins To Star In A Very Dolly Netflix Series

Former The Young and the Restless star Jessica Collins is heading to Dollywood…kind of, because she won’t be going to that Tennessee amusement park.

Instead, the actress has landed a role in Dolly Parton’s new Netflix anthology series, which is set to be called Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings.

The series will be based on stories from Dolly’s very famous songs and her music will be a part of each and every episode.

Collins, who left the long-running soap back in 2015, broke the exciting news via tweet on Monday.

“FINALLY I can share you! Beyond grateful & so PROUD of this project. Thank U beautiful Dolly & my whole Heartstrings Family,” she tweeted.

“Been floating ever since U welcomed me into your kind & talented world! @DollyParton @LisaMelamedLA @sarahshahi @LieslTommy @TLynnMichaels @rochelleaytes.”

The series will also star Melissa Leo, Ray McKinnon, Camryn Manheim, Timothy Busfield, and Patricia Wettig.

According to Deadline, each episode will begin with Dolly “talking/singing to the camera (as herself) about the meaning behind each song.”

Because it is an anthology series, each episode will have its own story and its own cast, so it’s possible each actor will appear in only one episode but as of now, that isn’t exactly clear.

Some of the episode titles that have already been released include “Jolene,” “JJ Sneed,” “These Old Bones,” and “If I Had Wings.”
