Veteran fans of The Young and the Restless (YR) recall a smokin’ hot hunk from the late ’90s, and now a social media post hints that he just might be returning to Genoa City!
Andre Khabbazi played Alec Moretti, a young man who romanced both Tricia Dennison (Sabryn Genet) and her sister Megan (Ashley Jones) before dropping out of sight when their dance cards became filled with, respectively, Ryan and Tony.
The actor posted on Instagram today a photo that has folks wondering if he’s on his way back to Genoa City. In fact, the caption all but says he’s headed back to the top-rated CBS soap. See for yourself below.
All About Alec
Khabbazi’s tenure in Genoa City was relatively brief. First, Alec was paired with Tricia, and then, he quickly began dating Megan (with little explanation as to the switch at the time).
It wasn’t long before Megan split with Alec and then moved onto a tragic relationship with Tony, whose life was cut short by a deranged Tricia, who ran over him with a motorcycle.
This would have been an opportunity for Alec to re-enter Megan’s life, but at this point he was gone from the scene.
Life After Y&R
Khabbazi continued to work in soaps after Y&R. He recurred as Officer Oscar Ruiz on Sunset Beach and then popped up as a cop on Passions.
He gave a riveting and powerful performance as Hector in the 2002 independent film Circuit, which told the story of a small town cop getting caught up in a world of drugs and illicit sex in Los Angeles.
Author, Actor
In October of 2015, Khabbazi became an author with the publication of The Superbeing Protocol: A Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming Super-Healthy and Super-Fit and Living an Extraordinary Life.
Stay tuned to see if Khabbazi will once again be returning to Y&R as either the long-gone Alec or another character — or if he’s returning to daytime on another soap.
