A former child star, Gonzalez appeared in telenovelas, movies, and stage productions for over 40 years.
Upon being diagnosed with cancer, Gonzalez lent her public voice to share her challenges including medical treatments and hair loss. She spoke to groups about cancer prevention, trying to help others.
