On Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless (YR), Victor announced that if Nikki doesn’t want him in her life anymore, he’ll back off.
He’s already disowned Nick (and gotten Adam killed). He’s grooming Abby (or is that Scott?) to take over Newman Enterprises. Victoria made it clear she doesn’t need him. He’s even allowed Chloe to make a clean escape with Kevin and Bella.
Who, What, Where, When, Why and How?
To some viewers, it’s starting to look like Victor (Eric Braeden) might be laying the groundwork for shuffling off to Buffalo (literally, it’s where the oddly German-accented Christian Miller was born).
And if that’s the case, he’s leaving behind some pretty big shoes to fill. Who will fill them?
You Don’t Know Jack
Jack (Peter Bergman) has tried deposing Victor for years. But he’s only succeeded periodically, and then only with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
The story may be headed there again, but when it comes to all the other stuff, the huffing, the puffing, the blustering, the pulling dirty tricks then hiding behind your family, the corporate raiding, Jack had his turn, but failed. That train has passed him by.
Quick Nick
Based on how he decided that Nikki shouldn’t be playing at her concert – no matter what Nikki wanted – then went ahead and sabotaged her soundboard, and then went off on Noah (Robert Adamson) when the boy innocently helped out his grandma, it’s looking like Nick (Joshua Morrow) will be the one to step in and pick up from where Victor leaves off.
He’ll be making all the decisions for his loved ones from now on. Except he won’t have the excuse of having grown up a poor little orphan boy.
Wonder if that will eventually include Nick deciding whom Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is better off with if/when Adam returns? Or what to do about Christian once Nick learns the tot’s true paternity.
Stay tuned to see!
