Hunter King Gives Up Young and the Restless Contract!

P erforming double duty has paid off big time for Hunter King (Summer). The two-time Emmy Winner is not only a big hit on “The Young and the Restless” but she’s also won over primetime audiences as well!

According to Deadline.com, King has been bumped from recurring to series regular on the hit CBS sitcom “Life in Pieces.” King plays newlywed Clementine, who eloped with Tyler (Niall Cunningham) during the show’s first season finale. Her role was only supposed to be a guest spot, but she quickly stole hearts and was invited back several times.

While her primetime life picks up, her daytime role will be scaled back. King’s giving up her full-time status as Summer on Y&R to concentrate on Clementine. While she’s not exiting the soap, she won’t be seen as often.

What does this mean for Y&R? Summer and Luca’s (Miles Gaston Villanueva) hot new romance has been heating up the screen. Will the couple fade out much like Noah (Robert Adamson) and Marisa (Sofia Pernas) or will Luca have to find a new love in Genoa City?

King began her Y&R career as Summer Newman in 2012. Since then, she’s earned four back-to-back Daytime Emmy nominations and took home the gold twice. Her performances won audiences over during an 18-year-old paternity scandal involving Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Jack (Peter Bergman).

King’s other credits include “Hollywood Heights,” “A Girl Like Her,” “Dexter,” and her breakout role as Amanda in “A.I. Artificial Intelligence.”
