Hilary is single and Cane has yet to reconcile with Lily on The Young and the Restless (YR) so technically, this is a couple who could get together. They’re both attractive and dynamic!
But would the TV gossip columnist and the ousted executive make a solid pairing? Soap Hub posed this question to Y&R fans. Read on for the results!
No Way!
Over 81% of you feel that no, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan) would not make a good couple.
For starters, Cane’s a married man. He and Lily aren’t together, but their divorce proceedings halted as Juliet (RIP) went into premature labor the day of the court proceedings. Cane is on very cordial terms with Lily, and she’s been supporting him while baby Sam is going through a medical crisis.
Meanwhile, Hilary’s been through the ringer with both Devon (Bryton James) and Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) in recent times. She’s not ready for another relationship just yet.
Super Couple
The rest of you, nearly 19%, feel that Cane and Hilary actually would make a good couple. Physically, they’re striking together. And we’ve seen some sparks when Cane and Hilary have sparred over her coverage of his life on The Hilary Hour.

Lily and Hilary have fought over Hilary cheating on Neil, Devon’s near-death experience after his car accident, and so much more. Lily watching Cane be affectionate with Hilary would take the rivalry to a new level!
Time Will Tell
Even if Y&R doesn’t do a Hilary/Cane romance now, there’s always the chance that could happen down the line. A lot will depend on Hilary’s growth — maybe she’d refuse Cane because she’d realize how badly Lily would be hurt? Or it’ll be a moot issue in light of a Cane/Lily reunion.
It’s likely that even a platonic Cane/Hilary relationship would be enough to make Lily extra wary of Hilary. Stay tuned!
