While fans know and love Thad Luckinbill as JT Hellstrom on The Young and the Restless spoilers (YR), he has another Hollywood gig — producer. One of his newest films, 12 Strong, tackles a small operation in the post-9/11 war on terror.
Not only did Luckinbill produce the upcoming war movie 12 Strong with Black Label Media, but he also portrays one of the 12, Vern Michaels, who is on the small team sent to Afghanistan to conduct unconventional warfare against the Taliban.
The movie follows the declassified true story of the horse soldiers who face incredible odds against a much larger group of enemy forces.
Chris Hemsworth (Captain Mitch Nelson), Michael Shannon (Chief Warrant Officer Cal Spencer), and Michael Pena (Sergeant First Class Sam Diller) also star in the film, which is based on the non-fiction book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton.
The movie opens in theaters nationwide in the U.S. on Friday, January 19, 2018. Did you realize Luckinbill was involved in the project? Will you watch the film this week?
