Soap stars meet fans all the time, but Bryton James of The Young and the Restless has a story that’s unlike any other. It all ties in with when the actor’s on-screen persona, Devon Hamilton, was deaf and wore a Cochlear Implant, which enabled him to hear.
The Emmy-winning actor explains how he’d been out to his dinner with his then-wife and a Y&R fan approached the couple, leaving a note on a napkin for James.
The short letter read that the fan is deaf and the Y&R devotee thought that James was doing a great job in the storyline as it allowed the viewer to connect with the show in a new way and Devon’s journey.
“It was the most rewarding thing I ever experienced,” James says.
Check out the post below in which James recounts the experience.
