Ever since Nate returned to The Young and the Restless in the form of daytime newcomer Brooks Darnell, fans have been trying to figure him out. Why, exactly, is Nate there?
,
At first, when he sniped with Hilary (Mishael Morgan) – usually sans shirt – we thought, “Aha! Hate always turns to love. He’s here to form a triangle with Hilary and Devon (Bryton James).”
But then Hilary died, in the saddest death that ever rocked Genoa City, according to Devon. So, there went that theory.
Then, Nate offered some self-defense lessons to Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Aha, fans thought… then, nothing.
He’s Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) person physician, but that has yet to yield a story. He counseled Shauna (Camryn Hamm)…until she left town. He’s advised Cane (Daniel Goddard) on how to live his life, and lectured Devon on the same subject.
So, after all that, how are you feeling about Nate? The word from over 5,000 viewers:
Love Story
We love him, 75% praise. We’ve always loved him. We loved him when he was just a little kid, hanging out – and getting Emmy nominations – alongside Cassie (Camryn Grimes).
It was great to see him come back and talk about Olivia with Ashley (Eileen Davidson).
And now we love his… abs. We’d just like some reasons to love him more. Like, say, a story?
Hate Watch
For 25% of you, however, Nate is a waste of space. He serves no purpose, which makes him dull as dishwater.
It would be one thing if he was in a romance or even a bromance. A mystery, a medical emergency…something. You’re happy he got Nikki back on her feet after Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) ran her over, but you also need more than that. You hate this spinning in place.
