After 14 years as hapless hacker Kevin on The Young and the Restless (YR), Greg Rikaart is bidding Genoa City goodbye.
According to TV Line, it was not the actor’s decision to go, but instead the show’s. Y&R is not renewing his contract.
Kevin fans can at least breathe a sigh of relief that Executive Producer Mal Young is leaving the door open for Rikaart’s return, meaning Kevin will likely not die.
Of course, we have to wonder how he leaves and what prompts it? Does he learn where Chloe is and choose to forgive her for all and be with her? After all, Kevin did just learn he is the father of her daughter, Bella, so they could become one happy family–just off screen.
Rikaart joined Y&R nearly a decade-and-a-half ago as a slimy character, but eventually became a good guy and fan favorite. He leaves the show in August.
