Good For the Soul: Should Nikki Confess On The Young and the Restless?

On The Young and the Restless, Nikki has been confessing like crazy. She confessed to killing JT (Thad Luckinbill) to Nick (Joshua Morrow). She confessed to Victor (Eric Braeden).

The one person Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) hasn’t confessed to, is the police. Naturally, she can’t confess to Paul (Doug Davidson). He seems to have disappeared from Genoa City.

But Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) now seems to be acting like the only cop in town. She could confess to him. The question is, should she? What almost 10,000 want their heroine to do:

Do It, Do It, Do It!
Go ahead and unburden your soul, Nikki, 63% of you urge. You know you’ll feel better. And Victoria (Amelia Heinle) will feel better. Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will be happy to be off the hook, and it will make Nick’s life easier – even if he’ll never know it.

Victor (Eric Braeden) will be set free, and Rey will have egg on his face. The Mustache wins again!

Most importantly, the story will finally be over, and that will make the fans happy. Nikki can’t go wrong, here.

Hold Your Horses
However, 36% of the audience would rather Nikki keep mum. Once she starts talking, the entire truth would have to come out. Nikki thinks she can protect the other women, but can she, really?

No one will believe she and Victoria dragged JT’s body on their own, they’ll want to know who helped. Summer (Hunter King), Noah (Robert Adamson), and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will suffer.

And what about Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu)? The poor kid just keeps getting punched from all sides. First his dad tried to kill his grandfather, then he disappeared, then he was presumed dead, then Victor was accused of killing JT, then Reed learned his dad abused his mom. How much more can Reed take?
