Good Cop/Bad Cop: Which One Is Rey on The Young and the Restless?

Rey arrived very mysteriously on The Young and the Restless. He made friends with Sharon, changed Phyllis’s (Gina Tognoni) tire, and took a selfie with Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).

Eventually, we learned that he’s in town – much to Paul’s (Doug Davidson) dismay – to get to the bottom of JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) disappearance.

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) thinks Sharon (Sharon Case) is the key to cracking the mystery. He convinced Paul to let him give her a job at the police station. Rey wants to convince Sharon that he’s a good cop. But, is he really? Here’s what happened when almost 10,000 of you played Internal Affairs.

Bad To the Bone
Rey looking into the Newman family definitely makes him a bad cop in Victor’s (Eric Braeden) book. And 57% of you agree with him! Rey may claim that he’s working for truth, justice, and the American Way, but that five o’clock shadow may make him look sexy… but also sinister. No guy who lies as easily as he does can be on the side of right.

Plus, why is he so interested in following JT’s money trail? Could he be trying to steal it for himself? Rey already arrested Nick (Joshua Morrow), then let him go. Is it because he’s after bigger, wealthier fish?

Matter Of Trust
And then there’s the 43% of the audience that has chosen to accept Rey at face value. Not all cops are on the take. Some really are committed to justice. Rey has every right to be investigating the Newmans in his search for JT – they had the best reason for taking him out, especially Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

Sure, he’s manipulating Sharon. But she also took advantage of her new position to snoop through Rey’s files, like the other women told her to. So who’s using who?
