On The Young and the Restless, some characters are people we want to be and some are people we hope we never become, while others are mirror reflections – we see ourselves in them, both the good and the bad. We asked almost 4000 fans: What Y&R character are you most like? And here’s what we learned about you!
To Protect and Serve
54% of viewers admit to relating to Dylan (Steve Burton), suggesting you see yourselves as strong, loyal, and brave, with just a touch of self-righteousness, and questionable taste in women.
It also suggests that you’re willing to sacrifice your personal relationship (volatile thought it may be, these days) in order to go forth and fight for truth, justice and the Genoa City way, even if there’s a chance of your never coming back.
(Which, considering Burton’s contract is up and he’s not renewing, is a really, really good chance.)
Stripped Bare
For 35% of you, your role model is Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). We presume that would be the current, lady of the manner, Mother Bountiful, Grandma of the Year Nikki.
Not the father-killing, STD-receiving, cult-joining, stripping Nikki. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It makes our readership more interesting.
Who Am I?
“Other” came in third, splitting the votes between write-in candidates Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Sharon (Sharon Case).
Meaning 9% of you are hot blondes with flexible morals who don’t mind bending the law as long as it gets you what you want, but feeling personally offended if someone dares try the same tactics against you.
Hillary, Dickary, Dock, the Schemer Runs Out the Clock
2% means almost 100 of you feel at one with Hilary (Mishael Morgan). You’re not even going to pretend that you’re open to exploring the high-road, when the low road is shorter, easier… and more fun. But what about when what goes around comes around? We’d hate to be you then!
