Jordi Vilasuso may be new to The Young and the Restless, but this Daytime Emmy winner is no stranger to the soap opera scene.
Vilasuso joined the number one soap just a short time ago and has already made quite a splash in Genoa City. Here are some quick facts to know about this handsome star.
1. In the Beginning
Vilasuso was born to parents, Ana and Dr. Frank Vilasuso (an anesthesiologist), and was raised in Coral Gables, Florida — with his older brother, Javier, and his younger sister, Marianne.
The actor is of Cuban descent and attended Epiphany Catholic School in Miami, Ransom Everglades High School, and Glendale Community College in California.
2. Outside Interests
This charismatic actor isn’t an all-work-and-no-play kind of guy. He has many other things going on in his life, including a passion for photography, poetry, and writing. He is also an avid yoga practitioner and enjoys working out.
3. DAYS Gone By
Prior to joining Y&R, Vilasuso got his soap start on Guiding Light in 2001, where he played Tony Santos — a role that won him that Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor.
From there, he played Dr. Griffin Castillo on All My Children, and later Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives.
4. Family Connections
His cousin, Marivi Lorido Garcia, is married to film star Andy Garcia from The Godfather III and Ocean’s Eleven. He is also the brother-in-law of young actress Bailee Madison from The Fosters and Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.
5. Getting Personal
Vilasuso has been married to Kaitlin Riley since August 25, 2012. The gorgeous couple has two daughters.
