Hunter King is an Emmy-winning actress who currently stars as Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless. King has been acting professionally since she was a young girl — guest-starring on shows such as Hannah Montana, ER, and Dexter.
She has been on The Young and the Restless for several years now and has taken Summer from sweet young super girl to quite a player on the Genoa City scene. From her sporty past to her future husband, here are five fast facts you need to know about Hunter King!
In The Beginning
King was born Haley Ashley King in Ventura County, California and is one of three children. She changed her name to Hunter Haley King when she started acting. She has an older sister named Kelli and a younger sister named Joey, who is also a successful actor. King began doing theater work in Agoura Hills, California at a young age.
Sporting Chance
Along with pursuing acting, King was also a great athlete. In fact, she was a competitive gymnast for many years, but she, unfortunately, had to stop because she got injured. She also was a cheerleader growing up.
First Acting Role
King’s first professional acting role was on the show Roswell back in 2001, though her character didn’t have a name. However, she didn’t get her first main acting role until 2012 when she was cast as Adriana Masters on the show Hollywood Heights, which also starred several future YR castmates.
Two Shows At Once
King was cast on The Young and the Restless as Summer back in 2012 without an audition. Executive producer Jill Farren-Phelps worked with King on Hollywood Heights, so she called and offered her the role. She was also cast on the show Life in Pieces, a CBS comedy, as Clementine Hughes in 2015 and was able to do both shows.
Getting Personal
Along with focusing on her work, King is happily planning her wedding to fiancé, Nico Svoboda. The couple got engaged back in August 2018 after dating for two years. They have yet to reveal when they’re tying the knot, but they are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary of getting engaged.
