Amelia Heinle currently plays Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless, but she also played Mia Saunders on All My Children for a few years. Of course, fresh out of high school she got her first role on the soap Loving, which later morphed into The City.
While she’s stayed busy with her work on soaps, Heinle has also appeared on other shows such as CSI: Miami and Ghost Whisperer. From where she was born and raised to her side business, here are five fast facts about The Young and the Restless actress.
In The Beginning
Heinle was born on March 17 in Phoenix, Arizona and has four younger siblings, whom she used to direct in backyard plays. She and her family lived in Phoenix until they moved to New Jersey when she was 15 years old. One of her first jobs was at a coat check in Manhattan, where she had to use her lunch breaks to audition.
Sweet Tooth
The actress is also an entrepreneur, having helped her pastry-chef sister, Anna, along with Anna’s husband Chris, open Doughnut Dollies in Georgia. In the Movies
Heinle appeared in future Oscar-winner (for the film, Traffic) Steven Soderbergh’s film, The Limey, in 1999. She played the late Peter Fonda’s girlfriend, Adhara. The film is about an English criminal who comes to America to investigate his daughter’s death.
Daytime Emmy Winner
Heinle has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless. She won in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in both 2014 and 2015.
Getting Personal
Heinle’s first marriage was to her Loving co-star, Michael Weatherly (who now stars in Bull on CBS), in 1995. They have one son together, 23-year-old August Manning. She and Weatherly divorced in 1997.
She then married her Y&R co-star, Thad Luckinbill, in 2007. They have two children together — 11-year-old son Thaddeus Rowe and 9-year-old daughter Georgia March. They filed for divorce in 2018. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
