Five Fast Facts About Veteran Soap Star Eva LaRue

Eva LaRue currently appears as Celeste Rosales on The Young and the Restless, but she is also beloved for starring as Dr. Maria Santos Grey on All My Children and Natalia Boa Vista on CSI: Miami.

Over the years, LaRue has also guest-starred on television shows such as Hell’s Kitchen, Criminal Minds, George Lopez, Dallas, as well as her first contract role on the now-defunct soap Santa Barbara. From where she was born and raised to her musical abilities, here are five fast facts about Eva LaRue.

In The Beginning
LaRue was born in Long Beach, California. She has three siblings, sisters Nika and Lara and a brother named Luis Jr. She started acting at the age of 6 and starred in a number of commercials. She then became a beauty queen and won the Danfranc Productions Miss California Empire title in 1984. She started modeling full-time after high school.

Art Imitates Life
LaRue’s sister Nika was actually one of the women photographed by serial killer Bill Bradford. It was revealed after he was finally arrested that he would photograph women he met in bars and tell them he’d help with their modeling career. Thankfully, her sister’s OK, but the incident was used in an episode of LaRue’s show, CSI: Miami and Nika played a reporter in it.

Musical Gift
Along with being an actor, LaRue is also a very talented singer. She began singing at a young age, but she wrote a song for All My Children called Dance Again With You. The song was even nominated in 2004 for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Original Song.

The New Mrs. Tanner
Following her work on CSI: Miami and other television shows, LaRue was cast on Fuller House, the revival of Full House, as Teri Tanner, the new wife of Danny Tanner. Though she was only on the show for one episode, she is officially the stepmom to DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle!

Getting Personal
LaRue married actor John O’Hurley in 1992, but the couple divorced two years later. She then married her All My Children co-star John Callahan in 1996, and they had a daughter in 2001 named Kaya. However, they called it quits in 2005. Her third marriage was to Joe Cappuccio in 2010, but they split in 2014.
