Victor’s younger brother is headed to The Young and the Restless, so here are a few fast facts about the man you may have forgotten.
Richard Gleason will be taking over the role of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) younger sibling, Matt, from Robert Parucha, who appeared on the show back in the mid-1980s. (He did briefly revisit in 2003.) Many fans weren’t even alive back then, so here are a few things you should know about the character.
1. Not Left Behind
Victor was the son of Cora and Albert, as was Matt. But when Albert left Cora and their boys, she wasn’t able to take care of both so she placed young Christian (Victor) in an orphanage.
Nikki, wanting to help Victor (who was still haunted by his past), hired Paul to find his family. Victor reconciled with Cora and put Matt in charge of one of his companies in Brazil but learned his father was dead.
2. Pitch-Hitting
Nikki decided to fight for Victor, so she needed to get him away from Ashley and thought Matt was the perfect person to do it. But it was too late — Ashley and Victor were in love.
She became pregnant but Victor learned Nikki was dying, so he left Ashley. Matt offered to marry her, but Ashley felt her only option was an abortion, so that’s what she did.
3. Not So Dead
Matt returned to Genoa City to let Victor know that their father hadn’t been dead all of this time — but now he was actually dying at a hospital in Toronto and thought Victor deserved to know that in case he wanted to see him, which Victor did. He took Nick and realized what a horrible man his father truly was.
Now, with Jack wondering what their father was doing in a picture with Dina, Victor wonders the same and is going to Matt for some answers.
