After debuting last year Sasha Calle quickly became a fan favorite on The Young and the Restless. Her character, Lola Rosales, is a hard-working young woman striving to become a master chef. But some fans still want to know more about this talented young lady. So here are five fast facts about Sasha Calle.
Culture Shock
After growing up in Boston, Massachusetts, 10-year-old Calle was shocked when her mother decided to up sticks and move them to Colombia. Despite being able to read and speak Spanish, Calle still found it very difficult to adjust to her new surroundings. After two years abroad Calle and her mother moved back to the U.S.
Ambitions
While Calle seems to be a natural at acting she is quick to admit that her initial goal was to pursue a musical career. After high school, a friend convinced her to apply for a spot at the American Musical And Dramatic Academy. After two auditions, Calle was accepted into the program and received a rave review by the judge for her acting skills.
Early Jobs
After graduating with a BFA in Performing Arts she hit the audition circuit. Although she didn’t hit the big time right away she did find small parts in films such as Rogue Tiger, Young Blood, and Final Stop. She also received praise for her work on the web series Socially Awkward.
What Could Have Been
It seemed to be fated that Calle would play warm-hearted Lola but she could have joined the soap much earlier. The Young and the Restless was one of the three soap opera that Calle tried out for right after her graduation.
