As Lauren Fenmore Baldwin on The Young and the Restless, her life is an open book. But what do you know about the woman who plays her — Tracey Bregman? Here are five fun facts about the woman who brings Lauren to life!
International Sensation
Bregman was born in Munich, Germany. Her parents are Canadian-born actress Suzanne Lloyd and late record producer and composter Buddy Bergman. Bregman lived in England until she was 10 years old and her family relocated to sunny southern California.
YR’s First Acting Emmy Winner
In 1985, Bregman was nominated as Lauren in the category of Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series. Her competition was Days of Our Lives’ Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Lisa Trusel (ex-Melissa) and All My Children’s Melissa Leo (ex-Linda) and Tasia Valenza (ex-Dottie).
One Life to Live’s Robert S. Woods (ex-Bo) and Another World’s Victoria Wyndham (ex-Rachel) presented Bregman with her award.
Metropolitan Honors
Bregman was given another honor in 2014 when she was inducted into the Ride of Fame on a New York City double-decker bus in honor of her many accomplishments!
Something To TALK About
Like many YR actors, Bregman’s appeared on the CBS talk show The Talk. Alas, instead of discussing her YR character, Bregman shared her thoughts and feelings over losing her Malibu home in a devastating fire.
What’s In A Name?
According to the tome Inside Soaps by Paul Denis, Bregman, who was born “Tracy” (not Tracey), was in between acting gigs when a psychic named Ducky advised her to add an “e” to her name. Bregman did and shortly thereafter landed her role as Lauren! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
