Now that Kyle has met little Harrison on The Young and the Restless – and heard from Tara that Ashland wants to keep her away from the boy – will he exert his parental rights and demand a role in raising his son? Almost 7,000 viewers told us their predictions:
The Young and the Restless Polling: Skips a Generation
Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) grandfather, John (Jerry Douglas), was the ultimate dad – in a time when fatherhood mostly consisted of bringing home the bacon and vaguely remembering each child’s name.
When Dina (Marla Adams) abandoned her family, John raised Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Traci (Beth Maitland) on his own. A winning 57% of you believe Kyle is a chip off the old John. He’ll want to be involved in Harrison’s life every day, and have the boy know Kyle is his real daddy.
Slow and Steady
Kyle knows what it’s like to have his childhood upended, 34% of the audience reminds, which is why you expect him to ease gently into Harrison’s life. Right now, the tot thinks of Ashland (Richard Burgi) as his father, and would just be confused by any sudden changes. Kyle can keep on being “Mommy’s friend” until the time is right to tell Harrison he’s actually something more.
Daddy’s Boy
A last place 9% expect Kyle to be more like Jack. Jack let Diane (Maura West) leave town with Kyle even when he knew the boy was his. Then, when Diane died, he either left Kyle with Diane’s parents or sent him off to boarding school. Kyle could follow the same path.
Let Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) and Ashland come to an agreement about Harrison, and just hover on the outskirts. Maybe get an invite to a birthday party or a school play once in a while. It’s better for Harrison. It’s better for Ashland. Which means it’s better for Jabot. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
