Dina took a long time to die on The Young and the Restless. And, once she did, we got the battle over her will. Then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. We think.
The Young and the Restless Polling
Who disappointed you most about this ill-handled mess? The votes from almost 3,000 fans give you an answer.
What’s the Point
Theo (Tyler Johnson) was originally brought on as Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) bad boy bud from New York, there to tell him he’d gotten boring ever since falling for Lola (Sasha Calle). The audience liked him well enough so, ipso presto, Theo was now Dina’s (Marla Adams) grandson.
Jack (Peter Bergman) leaped on his new relative like he didn’t have children and siblings or nieces and nephews. Kyle and Theo squabbled. Dina died. She didn’t leave Theo any money. Theo wanted some. He sued. Jack offered a settlement. Theo took it and left town. A majority 64% blame him for things going south with his family.
Spoiled Brat Kyle
Throughout the very brief lawsuit, Kyle never stopped reminding people that this was all about him. Theo was only pretending to be hurt that his new family ignored him. He was really only doing it to get back at Kyle for… being so awesome, naturally. Whiny baby isn’t a good look for you Kyle, 25% advise.
Voice Of Reason
Traci (Beth Maitland) is always so nice, 6% of the audience sigh. It’s kind of boring. And annoying. But even she jumped on Theo, not understanding that he was hurt by how the family has treated him. We expect better of you, Traci. That wasn’t nice!
Don’t Know Jack
Jack worried about Dina, then Jack worried about Dina’s jewelry, then Jack worried about Dina’s will. Jack is better than this. Not that 5% mind him caring for his mom, but he could have been more sensitive to Theo’s desire to be included. He made him feel like an outsider. Theo turning on him was deserved. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
