What year is it exactly on The Young and the Restless (YR)? Is it the 80s? The 90s? The whatever we’re supposed to call the first decade of the century? 2017?
Because while hairstyles and fashions change, and subtle wrinkles appear, then get promptly nipped and tucked away, the one thing that remains constant is that Nikki loves Victor, Victor (Eric Braeden) betrays Nikki, Nikki vows never to forgive him, Nikki turns to Jack.
So guess what happened this summer?
Yup, Victor told Nikki he loved her, he’s sorry for everything he’s done to her up to this point, and kissed her. Nikki melted. Victor punched and disowned Nick (Joshua Morrow). Nikki fumed. And kissed Jack.
Over 7,000 viewers weighed in on how they feel about this very familiar development.

Not this again, groan 40% of you. We’ve been on this merry-go-round a dozen times already, and it’s making us want to throw up. In fact, “Yuck” is literally the popular sentiment. Followed by: This needs to stop!

On the other hand, 31% of fans are all about Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). You want her to be happy and to go after what she wants. Oh, and also to stick it to Victor. Jack really is the most efficient method for achieving all those goals, so feel free to let those loose lips fly!

You’re reserving judgment until you can see exactly where this is going.
