Tamara Clatterbuck won over viewers of The Young and the Restless (YR) a long time ago when her character, Alice, decided to do the right thing and give custody of Cassie to Nick and Sharon.

Now, the gravely-voiced actress has returned, but are fans of Y&R happy to see Clatterbuck back onscreen? Soap Hub posed this question to you and the results may surprise you.

Sex Sells…But Not Always
The majority of you, 58% to be exact, voted that you weren’t happy to see Alice back, but with an important caveat — it’s not that you don’t want Alice back; you voted that you didn’t want her “with this sex trafficking storyline.”

A For Effort
In fact, a little over 28% of you clarified your thoughts on Alice’s return by saying you’d be happier about her return if it were in a different storyline. Alice’s love for Cassie (Camryn Grimes) changed her.

It made her a better person, so it is difficult to see how she’d regress and take a role as a madam for a sex ring (even though she once made the error of dating seedy Al Fenton).

If she really needed a job, Alice could have reached out to Nick (Joshua Morrow) for help since they were on very good terms and even shared a moment after Cassie’s death —  when Clatterbuck reprised Alice for an episode following her adopted daughter’s demise.

Alice In Genoa City-land
Meanwhile, a bit over 13% voted that you don’t care what the storyline is — you’re simply glad to see Alice back in Genoa City no matter what!

These viewers likely followed the actress all over the soap world when she went on to other roles including good-hearted hooker Tammy on General Hospital and the trouble-making Barb on Days of Our Lives.

Time will tell if Alice is going to do the right thing or not, but as she confided in Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case) that Cassie’s spirit often tells her to be good, fans of Alice are hoping that she will do behave honorably when push comes to shove as the sex trafficking story develops. Stay tuned!
