There have been plenty of series revivals of late — Will & Grace, Roseanne, The X-Files — might Family Matters, the primetime sitcom that co-starred not one, but two stars of The Young and the Restless (YR) be making a comeback?
Bryton James (Devon), Darius McCrary (ex-Malcolm), and the rest of the cast recently reunited for a photoshoot in the pages of Entertainment Weekly.
Family Reminder
Family Matters ran from Sept. 1989 to May 1997 on ABC and spent its final year (1997-98) on CBS. The series told the story of the Winslow clan, a middle-class African-American family living in Chicago.
Jaleel White was introduced halfway through the first season as nerdy neighbor Steve Urkel, who became the show’s breakout character. James played Richie Crawford while McCrary was Eddie Winslow.
With so many sitcoms being revived, there’s always the chance that Family Matters might find a new life, too! Devon fans would likely hope that James would be able to do both series if Family Matters is indeed revived.
In the meantime, you can see the original show when it premieres on the streaming service Hulu on September 29.
