Fake News: Did Tessa Set Up Her Attack On The Young and the Restless?

From the first day she showed up on The Young and the Restless, Tessa has been tough to pin down.

First, she was a starving artist living in her car. Within days of watching her busk, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) – usually no pushover – hired Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) to teach Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) guitar, and moved her onto the Newman Ranch.

For a while there, it looked like Tessa had some kind of agenda against either Nikki or Victor (Eric Braeden). At least, that’s what viewers were hoping for. Otherwise, Tessa seemed completely pointless.

Then, she started dating Noah (Robert Adamson). Ah, we thought, she’s a golddigger!

Nope. Turns out all Tessa cared about was freeing her precious sister, Crystal, from some bad, sex-trafficking people.

Along the way, she became friends with Mariah (Camryn Grimes). Mariah fell in love with Tessa. Ah, we thought, here’s the story we’ve been waiting for!

Tessa turned Mariah down. OK, she had every right to do that. Then, she stole Mariah’s song. She had no right to do that.

The pair got over it and seemed to be headed for couple-hood. But then, Tessa had to go rescue Crystal again. She came back to town with a story about how rescuing Crystal would cost $20,000.

Sharon (Sharon Case) thought Tessa was using her daughter. Then, Sharon overheard Tessa getting attacked during a phone call they were having at the time.

Tessa refused to call the cops, her injuries were superficial and… oh, yeah, she erased the security footage from the incident. But on the bright side, Sharon totally believes Tessa now. That’s… convenient.
