With Mishael Morgan’s departure from the role of Hilary growing closer and closer, should The Young and the Restless (YR) consider recasting?

Hilary has been front-burner almost since day one, and she’s currently driving story both as Devon’s (Bryton James) baby mama, and as Shauna’s (Camryn Hamm) guardian and love adviser.

Plus, there’s GC Buzz which, if Hilary had her way, would be all about Hilary, all the time. Even Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has admitted the GC Buzz fans love her.

Hilary can’t just disappear. But would the YR fans accept a replacement? Here’s how almost 13,000 feel about it!

One Of a Kind
On paper, Hilary is a pretty unpleasant person. The only reason she’s been bearable all these years is due to Morgan’s charisma and acting ability, and 59% of you just don’t expect lightening to strike twice.

Hilary was special because Morgan was special. And she can’t be replaced.

And then, of course, there are those who don’t want a recast because Hilary has annoyed them from the start. She hurt Neil (Kristoff St. John). She hurt Devon. She’s mean to Lily (Christel Khalil). Why would you want her hanging around any longer than necessary?

Any Girl Will Do
If iconic characters like Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Jill (Jess Walton) can be recast, so can Hilary, 40% shrug.

This is the worst time for Hilary to take off. It’s not just the baby – who doesn’t love babies? – but also her place in the Winters family.

They actually managed to have a civilized meal together over Father’s Day, and Hilary and Lily even worked together to reunite Shauna and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry).

Hilary is so close to having everything she ever wanted. A man, a family, a massively successful business, and, as always, a killer wardrobe and great hair. Keep her on the show – with any face necessary!

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
