Devon has made no secret of his anger towards Lily on The Young and the Restless. Iit looks like that might change… but should it?!
It’s not like we at Soap Hub want Devon (Bryton James) to stay mad at Lily (Christel Khalil) for (accidentally) killing his wife and unborn child, even if he has every right to hate her. She’s still his sister.
However, Devon has been consistently angry – no matter who he’s spoken with about what happened – insisting that his sister should pay for breaking the law. He didn’t care when her husband, Cane (Daniel Goddard) spoke on her behalf.
He didn’t care when their father, Neil (Kristoff St. John), did the same. Nor when his niece and nephew, Lily’s children, begged him to have mercy on their mother and their family. Nope, not Devon: He held onto his righteous anger not caring who it may hurt.
He even shocked us when he told Lily he believed she was fine with killing Hilary! Devon! She had her son in the car at the same time, you fool! You really think her hatred was so strong, she’d risk her life and her son’s life just to kill Hilary?!
It has made zero sense. You know what else makes zero sense? That after just a few minutes earlier telling the judge he wanted his sister to pay for the crime by serving the max, overhearing his loved ones question how he could do this (despite ALL of them already having said this to his face), he was ready to back down.
WHAT?!
Come the heck on, Y&R. Work with us here. You have to give Devon more motivation that THAT to turn on a dime.
We know he’s going to go to the judge in the next episode and ask for leniency and it doesn’t track with how Devon has been up until now. Overhearing his upset niece just doesn’t cut it. And a short talk from Cane?! No way.
Here’s hoping that something will happen to show another reason why he’s changed his mind because otherwise, this all rings way too hollow.
