Ashley has left The Young and the Restless… again.
She took off with a briefcase full of Jabot patents, having played Jack (Peter Bergman) like a fiddle, and pretty much burning every Abbott bridge she had, with the exception of possibly, Abby (Melissa Ordway).
Oh, sure, Traci (Beth Maitland) claimed she still loved her big sister unconditionally, but she made a frowny face. And we all know what Traci’s frowny face means!
Was this exit worthy of the Genoa City heroine who’s been coming and going since the 1980s? We let over 10,000 viewers have their say.
Good To Go
Home run, 52% of you cheer. This is the Ashley you fell in love with. A take-charge woman who knows how to wheel and deal – and scheme – with the best of them.
She used her smarts and took advantage of her brother underestimating her to pull off the ultimate con.
Then, when her family came to her on bended knee, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) told them all off for how they’d hurt her and sipped her champagne on the way to Paris like the boss she is!
This was the perfect exit storyline. And it sets up Ashley’s return even more perfectly.
Gone Bad
It was close, with an almost equal 47% unhappy with how things shook out. Ashley may be smart and strong.
Too smart and too strong to hurt her brother the way she did. Both brothers. Let’s not forget how she helped get Billy (Jason Thompson) out of the CEO chair.
Ashley has always been a heroine. And heroines just don’t act like this. Even when she lost her memory and thought she was a greasy spoon waitress, or when she was sobbing in a rainstorm and hearing phantom babies crying, you could still recognize your Ashley.
And now you just can’t.
