Eva Longoria, formerly of The Young and the Restless, took to social media recently for a very special post. The actress is one of Hollywood’s most successful stars, and she hasn’t forgotten her daytime roots.
Eva Longoria Remembers Where She Got Her Start
“To think this all started 20ish years ago with a role on The Young & the Restless, back when a girl didn’t have to cover up her grey hairs 😅🤷🏽♀️ #FlashbackFriday,” Longoria wrote, sharing a photo of a gallery shot taken at CBS Television City.
The backdrop in Longoria’s photo, which can be seen below, struck a familiar chord with other stars who’ve been on YR. “I recognized that curtain background before I read the caption 🤣🤪,” posted Jason Canela, who recurs as Arturo Rosales on the CBS soap.
“I knew this lady! Haha. 😍 And you still gorg, grey’s and all,” posted Lyndsy Fonseca (ex-Colleen), who appeared on YR when Longoria did.
YR fans recall Longoria’s run as the beautiful but calculating Isabella Braña. Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Le Blanc) conspired with the young woman to break up Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Paul (Doug Davidson) so he could bed the legal eagle himself.
Despite marrying Paul and giving him a son, Ricky (Peter Porte), Paul still loved Christine. Isabella faked her death, crept into Chris’s home when she soaking in a tub, and in a series of chilling scenes tried to kill Paul’s true love. Fortunately, Paul and Michael saved the day, and Isabella was incarcerated.
Post-YR, Longoria has worked non-stop as an actress but also as an executive producer and director. In 2004, she landed the breakout role of Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives. She then teamed up with Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry to produce the Lifetime series Devious Maids.
In 2015, she starred in the short-lived NBC sitcom Telenovela, a series which she also executive produced. More recently, she executive produced and guest-starred on Grand Hotel, an ABC nighttime serial. Longoria’s upcoming projects include War of the Worlds, 24-7, and Together Now. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
