We all love listening to music while in the car but The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden he was moved to tears was moved to tears by the tunes on a recent drive.
The actor tweeted a video of himself as he listened to a woman near and dear to his heart — major Y&R fan, the late Aretha Franklin. But this time he wasn’t listening to her usual song catalog as the Queen of Soul.
This time, the actor was listening to her in a way people weren’t used to hearing her — and he tweeted this:
“Aretha stepped in for PAVAROTTI AND SANG ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECES IN ALL OF OPERA: NESSUN DORMA, by PUCCINI! It moved me to tears!”
It was a huge moment when with only a few seconds notice, Franklin stepped in for Luciano Pavarotti, who was ailing but was scheduled to sing at the 1998 Grammy Awards.
She proved to the world just what an incredible musician she truly was — with that magical voice she had.
Hear the voice that moved Braeden to tears in the video. His love for opera and the loss of a woman he’d known affected him deeply and we dare you not to feel choked up while watching the video below.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
