The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden shocked the social media world yesterday when a Tweet appeared under his account name with an offensive racial slur in an image macro.
However, Braeden claims the tweet did not come from him, and instead was a result of an account hacking. In fact, Braeden deleted the tweet once he knew it was there, which is why Soap Hub can’t show you what it said.
The image macro featured Braeden’s face claiming “if you know this n–a, then your grandma raised you.”
After deleting the tweet, the longtime Y&R star issued a statement to Deadline, via his publicist. “My Twitter account was hacked and I deleted the tweet once I saw it.”
The German-born Braeden even re-tweeted a comment with opposite racial sentiments several days before the offensive tweet appeared, saying: “I dont understand why ‘i will not accept or excuse racism’ is such a hard concept to grasp. We won’t accept it. We won’t give it an inch.”
