That dashing European accent on The Young and the Restless’ Victor Newman is not acting and as real as can be, as actor Eric Braeden was born in Germany in 1941 as Hans-Jörg Gudegast.
He immigrated to the United States in 1959 and after attending The University of Montana, he decided to pursue an acting career and changed his name to Eric Braeden. As one of soaps’ most iconic actors who has been with his show since 1980, Braeden has also become one of the most outspoken daytime stars and Soap Hub always enjoys his words of wisdom and what he has to say.
Recently, Braeden took to social media with a video expressing his thoughts on what he sees happening in American society today, reminding us who we are as a nation and who we do not want to become.
With tequila in hand and a casual stance in what appears to be his home, Braeden delivered quite a heartfelt message from a European and historical perspective. But, don’t let us tell you about America. Let The Great Victor Newman do it in this wonderful Facebook video below. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
