Feathers were seemingly ruffled on The Young and the Restless recently when when newer cast member Jordi Vilasuso (Rey) was invited to partake in a video roundup when actors were asked to comment on the legacy of the long-running soap.
Later, Eric Braeden (Victor) took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction that someone relatively new to Y&R (but certainly not new to soaps!) was being asked to comment on the show’s legacy.
In turn, Vilasuso, the only new cast member involved in the roundup, replied to Braeden on Twitter that he was invited to take part in the social media promotion and has only respect for the actors who’ve come before him on the top-rated soap.
Now, Braeden has responded to his co-star’s tweet and wants him to know that he has no problem with him or any other of the newer cast members.
Rather, he found fault with the round-up decision makers who didn’t reach out to more veteran cast members. And he let Vilasuso know there are no hard feelings.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
Jordi, my question was NOT meant to disparage you or any of the new actors on our show! It wasn’t YOUR decision, I know that! WHOEVER MADE THE DECISION was just utterly disrespectful to those who were with us for YEARS! That’s all I meant to say! Never to disrespect you in anyway

We asked some of our cast about the #YR legacy, and now it’s your turn! Tell us what it means to you. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/aiC6pWFQz4
