Soap vet Eileen Davidson celebrates a momentous day! The talented actress currently portrays Ashley on The Young and the Restless, but she’s also appeared on Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Today is her birthday! Davidson was born on June 15, 1959. The talented actress began her long career in soaps with a role on Y&R.
Davidson beat out other name actresses for the role of Ashley. She won the part of the Abbott cosmetics heiress over Leann Hunley (ex-Anna, Days of Our Lives) and Catherine Hickland (ex-Julie/Jenny, Capitol; ex-Lindsay, One Life to Live).
Davidson played Ashley until 1988. She vacated the role when Ashley’s husband, Dr. Steven Lassiter (Rod Arrants), was killed off. She then went on to play the role of Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara from 1991 to the show’s finale in 1993.
Next, she joined Days of Our Lives as Kristen Blake, who turned out to be Stefano’s daughter! Davidson also took on the part of Susan Banks, and then, in a daytime first, she added three additional roles: Sister Mary Moira, Penelope Banks, and Thomas Banks!
She exited DAYS in 1998 and then returned to Y&R as Ashley in 1999.
The actress left Y&R in 2007, but was quickly scooped up by The Bold and the Beautiful to play Ashley for several months.
Then, she returned again to Y&R and has made appearances on DAYS, too, most recently in 2017.
Additionally, Davidson has appeared in seasons 5 through 7 (and in season 8 as a guest) on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Davidson has won two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress, one for DAYS’ Kristen (in 2014), the other for Y&R’s Ashley (in 2018).
In real-life, she is wed to Vincent Van Patten (ex-Christian, Y&R) and they have a son, Jesse.
