Eileen Davidson recently returned to her role as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless, and now she’s teaming up with legendary talk show host/TV content creator/actress Oprah Winfrey!
According to Soaps.com, Davidson has been cast in Secrets & Shame: Dear Oprah Diaries, a series based on the book by James W. Mercer, Ph.D.
Mercer authored his biography, telling the story of how he grew up being abused by his own father, Henry, who berated his son, telling him he hoped he’d die from AIDS. After turning to alcohol and drugs, Mercer underwent a rebirth. His book details how he wrote letters to Oprah, thus the tome’s title.
Davidson will play the character of Jessie Mercer. Winfrey will also appear in the series as herself. The project is set for a February 2020 release.
But, Davidson seems to also be really busy on YR as she pops up when you least expect her, including phone calls with Jack and a high society party. She will remain in GC this week for the funeral of Ashley’s former love interest Neil (Kristoff St. John). Are more returns in the future?
